The following bands have performed on the first European Country Festival in 2015.
Friday 04. September 2015
Austria’s most successful Country band „New West“ was the opener for a weekend under the banner of Country music. And they delivered brilliantly. The multi-awarded band performed cover songs of the most famous Country songs around, as well as their own ones. Needless to say, the fans enjoyed the concert and „New West“ left nothing to desire.
“Bandana“ had the honor to play the greatest hits of Country music’s most famous musician – Johnny Cash. And their wide selection of Cash songs didn’t let the audience down. While classics like “Walk the Line“ and “Folsom Prison Blues“ are more or less an obligation for Cash tribute bands, also less known tracks like “One piece at a time“ were part of the set.
Nevertheless, the highlight of the festival’s first day was an old hand of Europe-based Country music. Namely “Tom Astor“, the first German to perform in the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. To describe his concert, two words would be more than sufficient – top-notch. Within minutes he had the fans in the palm of his hand and they danced and sang to every single song of „Astor’s“ repertory. “Astor“ played almost every song, requested by the audience and even gave 2 encores at the end of his gig, before sending his fans into a restful night.

Gudrun Lange & Kactus
The second day of the festival started earlier with a performance of “Gudrun Lange & Kactus”. After 30 years in the Country business they demonstrated in an exciting manner, that they aren’t scrapped in any way. During their jam sessions, the musicians had the possibility to deploy all their skills and carried the audience.
The Buffalo Bells
The newcomer band “The Buffalo Bells” impressed with an energetic and barnstorming performance, lead by their charismatic front man and took charge of the action in the tent. It was their first opportunity to play on a big stage and they made full use of it. All in all they were a huge and (more importantly) positive surprise for everyone on the festival.
Ronny Nash & His Whiteline Casanovas
“Ronny Nash & His Whiteline Casanovas” from Bavaria presented true and straightforward Country sound from various genres, be it Bluegrass or Modern Country. Even classics like “Mamma’s don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys” by Ed Bruce were part of the show.
The preliminary highlight of the evening was the German band “Truck Stop” with their 40 year experience in Country music presented, 4 songs of their newly released album “Männer sind so” right among old classics and the crowd was lying at the band’s feet. After their gig they also received a lifetime achievement award.
Kim Carson & the Reunion Band
The headliner of the festival’s second day “Kim Carson & the Reunion Band” from the U.S. had the difficult task to end the evening in the best way possible, right after “Truck Stop” brought the house down. And they managed to deliver. Together with “Ryan Donohue” on the bass and “Johnny Falstaff” on the guitar, “Kim Carson” presented authentic Country music straight from its homeland and the audience appreciated the performance in every second. Needless to say they raised a cheer and as a headliner “Kim Carson” left nothing to desire.

Ronny Nash & His Whiteline Casanovas
The third and last day of the festival started with a traditional cowboy breakfast. The fans were served eggs, beans, bacon and coffee, while they enjoyed the music of “Ronny Nash and his Whiteline Casanovas”, who took it a bit easier in the early morning hours.
The guitarist of “Kim Carson”, “Johnny Falstaff”, had the final shot to perform at the European Country Festival. With his natural Texan charm he had the audience twisted around his finger within the blink of an eye. His mix of Country Rock, Honky Tonk and Classic Country brought the Festival to glorious ending.
